Polling data collected after a season of discord characterized by teacher strikes across six states, shows U.S. support for teacher pay hikes has increased by 13% since 2017.  Most significantly, the largest increases in support for higher pay came from right-to-work states where those strikes occurred. Education stakeholders in West Virginia, Kentucky, Arizona, Colorado, Oklahoma, and Kansas and are aware of the ongoing problem and are willing to provide resources to resolve it.

This data supports a longstanding pattern of support for higher pay beginning in 2009 and continuing through 2018.
