Overview
Thank you for your interest in presenting at the 2021 Equity & Human Rights Conference – Home Edition!. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2021 conference will be fully virtual. It will be free for CTA members to attend.
Although there is no monetary compensation for presenting at the Equity & Human Rights Conference, it is an opportunity to share your knowledge and network with colleagues. Since presenters will not incur travel or lodging expenses, there will be no presenter reimbursements.
The conference planning committee will review all applications and select the presenters based on the following criteria: relevancy to the conference program and attendees; inclusion of hot topics outlined below; evidence of knowledge of the subject matter; and prior presentation success.
The deadline to apply is November 20, 2020. Presenters will be notified via email of their application status in December.
This year, the Planning Committee is specifically looking for sessions on these topics:
- Equity Lens in Schools
- Racial Justice
- LGBTQ+ Movement
- Equity in Special Education
- Socio Economic Justice
Each of the above topics will be covered during Elective Sessions. There will be three times at which Elective Sessions will be scheduled. Elective Sessions will be themed as follows:
- Discovering Truth – allowing the participant to walk away with a truth about the topic above;
- Developing Skills – focusing on organizing, “how to,” and resources; and
- Taking Action and Sustaining the Movement
Elective Sessions 1 (Truth) and Elective Sessions 3 (Action) will be 75 minutes in length. Elective Sessions 2 (Skills) will be 90 minutes in length.
